Electric cars. Reva is Indias first electric car. It was launched in 2001 in Bangalore in southern India. A fully charged battery gives a driving range of 80 kilometres. Its battery is also recharged during travel by regenerative braking. Electric cars may be increasingly important in the future as the worlds oil reserves become depleted.
