In this color lithograph by Achille Beltrame, we witness an American man who has locked himself inside a barrel in an attempt to conquer the mighty waterfall once again. A crowd gathers on the riverbank, anxiously watching as an airplane equipped with a long slip-knot rope attempts to rescue him from his perilous situation. However, their efforts prove futile.
