Aeroplane landing at sunset. Boeing 747 landing at sunset at Vancouver International Airport, British Columbia, Canada. The landing gear is down and the angled wing tips are clearly seen. Landing lights, used to guide aircraft to the runway, are in the shadows at bottom. At night, aircraft fly along the line formed by these lights as they approach the runway.

Military - VC 10 and Belfast RAF Aircraft - Brize Norton, Oxfordshire
Two VC 10 jet transporters and a Belfast turbojet freighter (centre) are seen in the gigantic new hangar, one of the biggest in Western Europe, officially handed over to the Royal Air Force at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, by Sir Cecil Mant, Controller-General of the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works. The hangar, 1, 056ft long, 215ft wide and 90ft high, covers five acres and is capable of holding three 144-ton VC 10's and three 100-ton Belfasts. It costs 1, 800, 000 and marks another stage in the development of Brize Norton as the main base for the strategic force of RAF Air Support Command.

de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 100 CF-AWC (msn 108), of AirWest Airlines at Richmond, British Columbia. First flown on 4 March 1968, CF-AWC crashed and was destroyed by fire, at Northern Rockies Lodge, Muncho Lake, BC., on 8 July 2007, with one fatality and four injuries. Date: circa 1980
