Sauroposeidon graze while feathered Deinonychus look
Sauroposeidon graze on American Sycamore and Flowering Magnolia while feathered Deinonychus look on. The location is a river delta on the Western Interior Seaway 110 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous Period in what is today southeastern Oklahoma.
Sauroposeidon is the tallest known dinosaur with a neck that could reach up to 56 feet high. Deinonychus on the other hand was a relatively small predator, 11 feet long and standing about three feet tall at the hip. It was a close relative to the smaller velociraptor which emerged later in Central Asia. Deinonychus wasn t powerful enough to bring down a giant like an adult sauroposeidon, however they did likely prey on juvenile or sick adults of the species

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a mesmerizing scene from 110 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous Period. In what is now southeastern Oklahoma, a river delta on the Western Interior Seaway served as the backdrop for an extraordinary encounter between two distinct dinosaur species. The towering Sauroposeidon, known as the tallest dinosaur ever discovered, peacefully grazes on American Sycamore and Flowering Magnolia trees. With its neck reaching up to an astonishing 56 feet high, this magnificent creature dominates the landscape with its sheer size and grace. Meanwhile, feathered Deinonychus lurk nearby, observing their surroundings with keen eyes. Although relatively small in comparison to Sauroposeidon at only 11 feet long and three feet tall at the hip, these carnivorous predators were not to be underestimated. While they may not have been capable of bringing down an adult sauropod like Sauroposeidon, it is believed that they targeted juvenile or sick individuals of their own kind. In this digitally generated image by Walter Myers, we are transported back in time to witness this awe-inspiring moment in natural history. The lush forest surrounding a tranquil lake sets the stage for these ancient creatures' existence – a world teeming with life and evolution. As we admire this artwork depicting prehistoric wonders unfolding before our eyes, let us marvel at Earth's rich past and reflect upon our connection to all living beings that have roamed this planet throughout time.
