The Maharana, a prominent monarch from the Mewar region of Rajasthan, India, is shown on horseback, aiming his gun towards a leaping feline. His three companions, also on horseback, are in various stages of readiness, one with a lance, another aiming his gun, and the third in mid-jump to join the chase. The vibrant opaque watercolor, adorned with gold and silver accents, captures the rich colors of the Indian countryside, with its rolling hills, verdant greenery, and serene lake reflecting the clear blue sky. The Maharana and his men, dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, add a splash of color to the scene.
