Chateau de Marly, France, 1722 (1882-1884). Marly was built for Louis XIV as a smaller retreat from his grand palace at Versailles. Designed by Jules Hardouin Mansart and Charles le Brun, it was conceived as a hunting lodge only large enough to accommodate the members of the royal hunt.
