Painting by the Liverpool marine artist Francis Hustwick of the SS Great Britain arriving in Liverpool in 1845. The ship had just completed her first successful transatlantic voyage to New York and back. A specially created Atlantic Flag, a combination of the British and American flags, can be seen flying at the first mast top.
