The manuscript is a rare and valuable example of Pre-Romanesque art in Europe during the Middle Ages. The illustration depicts the Conquest of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, an Old Testament king of Babylon. According to the biblical account, Nebuchadnezzar led an army to conquer Jerusalem and took King Jeconiah and the royal family into exile.
