Native to the Caribbean, Central America, and southern Florida, the Annona glabra is a tree or large shrub that bears edible fruit. The illustration captures the intricate details of the Annona glabra's large, glossy leaves, which are arranged alternately along the stem. The tree's flowers, which are not shown in this image, are funnel-shaped and produce both male and female flowers on the same plant. The fruit, which is not ripe in this depiction, is round and green, and turns yellow or orange when it's ready to eat.
