Lizards come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors, ranging from the small gecko to the large Komodo dragon. Most lizards have four legs and a long tail which helps them with balance and movement. Some species also have the ability to shed their tails when threatened as a defense mechanism, and are mostly carnivorous but some species are omnivorous or herbivorous. They feed on insects, spiders, worms and other small animals as well as fruits and flowers.
