Born in Cordoba, Hispania Baetica, around 39 AD, Lucan was a prominent figure in the early Roman Empire. The image on the cover is a meticulously crafted engraving, featuring a detailed pediment adorned with various symbols and figures. At the center, the title "Pharsalia" is prominently displayed, with the subtitle "Bellum Civile" (Civil War) beneath it.
