HMS Belfast JLP01_10_22752
London Bridge City, Southwark, Greater London. A view looking east over the London Bridge City complex, showing HMS Belfast moored on the River Thames with Tower Bridge beyond.
Various buildings within this complex of offices, flats and shops on Tooley Street in London Bridge City were built by Laing Management Contracting for the St Martins Group who redeveloped the former Hays Wharf site on the south bank of the River Thames. The redevelopment of the site took place over 2 1/2 years between 1985-1988 and included No.1 London Bridge, Cottons, Hays Galleria and 29-33 Tooley Street. At the time, it was the biggest building contract in London and was one of the largest construction projects in the country

Tower Bridge stands proudly in the background, creating a stunning backdrop for this picturesque scene. The image showcases the bustling London Bridge City complex, which encompasses a range of buildings including offices, flats, and shops. Built by Laing Management Contracting for the St Martins Group during an extensive redevelopment project between 1985 and 1988, this site was once Hays Wharf. No. 1 London Bridge, Cottons, Hays Galleria, and 29-33 Tooley Street are among the notable structures within this vibrant complex.
