Drawing No. 16. Man and woman in forest scene. He sits on a rock with a long, twisted pipe, blue breech cloth, and dagger in his belt. He holds an ax or tomahawk in his right hand, earrings, and body paint. His hair is mostly shaved except the crown, where there are feathers. The woman wears a blue skirt, necklace, and fur shawl. She holds a small pelt to the Iowa chief. Caption: "From Life Canada. American Type."
