EDITORS COMMENTS
The captivating print titled "Camp of the Gros Ventres of the Prairies on the Upper Missouri" takes us back in time to an extraordinary moment in history. Captured by Karl Bodmer, a renowned Swiss artist, this image is part of a series commissioned by Maximilian, Prince of Wied, documenting their travels through North America in 1836. In this tableau, we find ourselves immersed in the vastness of the American prairies along the banks of the mighty Missouri River.
