A Russian MiG-35 fighter at an air display. A product of the Mikoyan-Guryevich design bureau, the MiG-35 (NATO reporting name Fulcrum-F ) is a fourth-plus generation air superiority fighter, developed from the earlier MiG-29. It is powered by two Klimov RD-33 afterburning turbofan jet engines and can reach speeds of Mach 2.35 (2600 km/h) and a ceiling of 17, 500 metres. It is armed with a 30mm cannon and nine hardpoints that can carry missiles, bombs, rocket packs and fuel tanks. The MiG-35 first flew in 2007, ten prototypes had been built for the Russian Air Force by 2013. Photographed in 2009
