Literature - T.E. Lawrence
Aircraftsman Thomas Edward Shaw on his motorcycle; a Brough Superior SS100. Shaw was better known as Lt Col T.E. Lawrence or 'Lawrence of Arabia' A major factor in the Desert War in WWI, he was also an adviser to Prince Faisal during the Versailles Peace Conference, a renowned author and an archaeolgist. He was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1935.
Morris Minors : 1950
1950: Lined in solemn, soldier-like files on the jetty of the Samuel Willams wharf of the London docks are these Morris Minor cars, destined for Canada and sales in the precious dollar. Some 500 in total, they are part of a 1 million dollar consignment from the Nuffield Organisation of Cowley, Oxford.

Commandos reunited at a service in the Highlands
A group of French and British commando's who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day together, are reunited at a service in the Scottish Highlands. Ten French and two British veterans who formed part of the first special service brigade which took Sword Beach where more than 150 of their comrades were killed or wounded, made their way up the hill to the Spean Bridge Commando memorial where once they carried full battle gear.
