The lateral perspective allows us to appreciate the remarkable structure and functionality of the knee joint. In this artwork, we observe a flexed left knee joint on one side and an extended right knee joint on the other. The upper leg bone (femur) articulates with two lower leg bones - the tibia on the right and fibula on the left. Additionally, we can see the presence of the patella or kneecap.
