Esta foto muestra una impresión del uso del tabaco por parte de Fra Bernardino de Sahagun, tomada del Códice Florentino "Historia general de las cosas de Nueva España" en español y náhuatl. Esta facsímil pertenece al siglo XVI y es un manuscrito mexicano antiguo. La imagen captura a cuatro personas, todas hombres, sentadas o paradas mientras disfrutan del tabaco en una escena que representa la civilización antigua. La ilustración se encuentra dentro de un libro iluminado con detalles exquisitos y colores vibrantes. El ambiente interior está decorado con un suelo embaldosado tradicional, lo que nos transporta al pasado y nos permite apreciar la técnica utilizada para crear esta obra maestra. El uso del tabaco era una parte importante de la cultura tribal sudamericana representada en este manuscrito histórico. Fra Bernardino de Sahagun documentó meticulosamente las costumbres y tradiciones indígenas durante el período colonial español en México.
