The event was organized by the dedicated Mr Leslie Chadwick, assistant district commissioner for Holme Valley Cubs. Alongside him stands referee Mr David Mallinson, both engrossed in running through the rules with utmost precision. Representing each of the 14 cub packs in the Holme Valley, teams eagerly took their positions on the field. Amongst them were notable contenders such as 6th Honley Atlas pack who emerged as overall winners and runners-up 12th Hinchliffe Mill. The semi-finals saw fierce battles between 1st Holmfirth (Tuesday) pack and 6th Honley Thor. The games were officiated by both Mr Mallinson and his assisting referee, Mr Richard Green. As tensions rose on the pitch, over 150 spectators filled with anticipation watched from the sidelines. To keep everyone entertained throughout the day-long event, a variety of stalls offered additional amusement. Ultimately, it was Mrs Kath Minney, wife of district commissioner who had honor to present trophies and engraved medals to deserving victors.
