This evocative photograph print transports us back to the tumultuous events of the Ethiopian Civil War during the late 13th century, specifically to the pivotal Battle of Lasta. The Battle of Lasta, which took place in 1182, was a significant turning point in Ethiopian history as it marked the end of the Zagwe Dynasty and the rise of the Solomonic Dynasty. The image captures the raw intensity and chaos of the battlefield, with horsemen clashing on horseback, their weapons raised high. The Ethiopian highlands, known for their rugged terrain, serve as the backdrop to this epic struggle for power. The dusty landscape, dotted with trees and rocks, adds to the sense of drama and uncertainty.
