The launch of the 2nd Argentine Destroyer Tucuman built by J Samuel White & Co in Cowes, Isle of Wight, 16 Oct 1928. Tucuman was the second of three Mendoza class destroyers built in the United Kingdom for the Argentine Navy. They were the first part of the Argentine re-armament programme of the 1920s. Construction began in 1927 and all three were commissioned in 1929
