Born on January 15, 1803, Stephenson is best known for his pioneering work on bridges, most notably the iconic Menai Railway Bridge. Completed in 1850, the Menai Suspension Bridge is a marvel of engineering, spanning the Menai Strait in Wales and connecting the island of Anglesey to the mainland.
