This photograph captures a bustling scene outside the Wells Fargo general office in New York City during the late 19th century. The image showcases the essential role that horses played in transportation and delivery during this era. Wells Fargo & Co. , founded by Henry Wells and William George Fargo, initially focused on transporting gold from the west to the east coast of America after the Californian Gold Rush.
