Created by the talented Dutch artist Meinert Gelijs after 1622, this intricate artwork showcases the fusion of blackwork embroidery and engraving techniques. The composition is a mesmerizing blend of acrobatic figures gracefully intertwined with delicate butterflies and other insects. The monochromatic palette in black and white adds an air of elegance to the piece while highlighting the meticulous details. Each line seems purposefully etched onto the paper, showcasing Gelijs' mastery as both an artist and goldsmith.
