This print captures a significant moment in history, depicting Mary, Queen of Scots, as she lands in England in May 1567. In a desperate plea for mercy, she throws herself upon the compassion of her cousin, Elizabeth I. The engraving beautifully portrays the anguish and vulnerability of Mary's situation.
