The Canberra, a versatile jet-powered medium bomber, was developed by English Electric Aviation Company and first flew in 1950. By 1953, the Canberra had already proven its worth in various roles, including maritime patrol, reconnaissance, and even as a passenger transport. The PR.3 variant, specifically designed for photo-reconnaissance missions, was a significant improvement over its predecessors.
