With a dramatic reduction in enemy attacks on London after the Blitz (1940-41) firefighters had to be kept gainfully employed and a high level of fitness and preparedness maintained. Training assault courses were established, this one in Regents Park, combining fire brigade skills with fitness training. Here the Chief Fire Officer of the London Region, Major Frank Jackson, addresses the firefighters after they have completed the assault course
