Born in 1817 as the youngest son of the esteemed botanist and professor William Jackson Hooker, Joseph Dalton Hooker followed in his father's footsteps to become a leading figure in the scientific world. His travels took him to the Himalayas, New Zealand, and Antarctica, where he collected an impressive number of plant specimens, expanding the world's knowledge of diverse flora.
