This stunning evergreen shrub is a proud member of the Proteaceae family and is native to a small area surrounding the vibrant city of Cape Town. In this 1907 postcard, we find a beautiful representation of the silvertree's leaves, adorned with their characteristic silver sheen and intricate, textured surface. The central leaf takes center stage, framing a charming painting of an ostrich, a symbol of the African savannah and a fitting emblem of the rich natural heritage of South Africa. The silvertree's habitat is under threat due to urbanization, agriculture, and climate change, making this postcard a historical testament to the beauty and uniqueness of this endangered species.
