On this special day, these young individuals transformed into journalists to publish their very own newspaper as part of an international news day event. This initiative was organized by Newspapers in Education, a program supported by the Newspaper Society. The main objective of this event was to create a newspaper using a microcomputer, showcasing the students' creativity and journalistic skills. Little did they know that one member of their team, Nina Hossain herself, would go on to become an accomplished television journalist and news presenter. This snapshot captures not only the enthusiasm and dedication of these schoolchildren but also highlights the importance of education in shaping future professionals. The image reflects an era when technology was rapidly advancing, paving the way for new opportunities within media and communication. Located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Newsome High School provided its students with invaluable experiences beyond traditional classroom learning. By participating in such initiatives like International News Day, these secondary school children were able to gain practical knowledge about journalism while fostering teamwork and critical thinking skills.
