Coventrys " new wave jazz-rock" pop group, " The Reluctant Stereotypes" have won a London heat of a national music contest organised by " Melody Maker". The band have been together in various forms for around three years and have played regular gigs at Nuneatons Griff and Coton Club and the Green Dragon pub in Stratford. they all have full-time jobs and practice in their spare time. The group have financed their own first singe record which was recorded at Bird Studios in Warwick. Entitled " The Lull", it will be released on Raw Records. From left to right: Paul Sampson(guitar), Martyn Bates(vocals), Steve Edgson, Mick Hartley(bass guitar), Chris Dunne(drums), and Steve Haddon(guitar).

Coventry's "new wave jazz-rock" pop group, The Reluctant Stereotypes, celebrate their victory in a London heat of a prestigious national music contest organized by Melody Maker. This talented band has been honing their craft for the past three years and has become a regular fixture at popular venues such as Nuneaton's Griff and Coton Club and the Green Dragon pub in Stratford. Despite juggling full-time jobs, these dedicated musicians find time to practice together. The Reluctant Stereotypes have taken matters into their own hands by self-financing their debut single record titled "The Lull" which was expertly recorded at Bird Studios in Warwick. Fans can look forward to its release on Raw Records soon.
