Coventry is a city in the West Midlands of England and has a population of around 360,000 people and is the second largest city in the region. A long history, having been founded by Leofric, Earl of Mercia in 1043. The city was heavily damaged during World War II and much of its medieval architecture was destroyed. Today, Coventry is home to two universities – Coventry University and the University of Warwick – as well as numerous cultural attractions such as the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum and Coventry Cathedral. The city also hosts several festivals throughout the year including Godiva Festival and Coventry Music Festival.
