This stunning watercolor print, created by the renowned English artist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins in the late 19th century, showcases four remarkable marine reptiles that once roamed the Jurassic seas approximately 150 million years ago. The illustration features an Ichthyosaurus, a fish-like reptile with a streamlined body and a large, melon-shaped head, characterized by its long, tooth-filled jaws. The second creature is a Plesiosaurus, easily identified by its elongated neck and four flipper-like limbs. The third reptile, Stenosaurus, is a close relative of the Ichthyosaurus, but with a more slender body and a shorter snout.
