This evocative print depicts the renowned Scottish painter and etcher, David Wilkie (1785-1841). Wilkie is considered one of the most important figures in the history of Scottish art and is best known for his detailed and realistic depictions of everyday life. Born in Fife, Scotland, Wilkie showed an early aptitude for art and was apprenticed to a local engraver at the age of 14.
