Built in the late 16th century, the cathedral is the oldest continuously operating Catholic church in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The intricately designed metalwork facade is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the Dominican people. At the center of the photograph, two ornate urns are prominently displayed. These urns once held the remains of Christopher Columbus, the famed explorer who discovered the Americas in 1492.
