This evocative print captures the indomitable spirit of Gebhard Lebrecht von Blücher, the Prussian military commander who played a pivotal role in the historic defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Born on December 1, 1742, Blücher was a seasoned military veteran who had served in the Seven Years' War and the French Revolutionary Wars before his fateful encounter with Napoleon.
