Lucius Carey, Viscount Falkland, (mid 19th century). Portait of English author and politician Lucius Cary, 2nd Viscount Falkland (c1610-1643) who sat in the House of Commons 1640 to 1642. He fought on the Royalist side under the personal command of King Charles I, in the English Civil War and was killed in action on 20 September 1643 at the First Battle of Newbury.
