The vertical section of soil showcases a diverse range of structures and fauna, offering a glimpse into the intricate web of life that exists within this seemingly ordinary medium. Starting from left to right, we encounter various organisms inhabiting different layers of the soil. At the surface layer, organic mulch provides nourishment while rocks form the bottom layer. Our eyes are immediately drawn to a woodlouse, followed by a fascinating fungus fruiting body with its underground hyphae. As we delve deeper, we come across a centipede and an intriguing white beetle larva accompanied by nematode worms below them.
