The ship was found buried in a large mound at the Oseberg farm near Tonsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. Archaeologists Haakon Shetelig of Norway and Gabriel Gustafson of Sweden led the excavation, unveiling one of the most significant finds from the Viking era. The Oseberg Ship is renowned for its exceptional preservation, with much of the original oak hull and intricate decorative elements still intact.
