The image, taken at Seddul Bahr, depicts a 155-MM. gun being carefully towed ashore on a lighter. The heavy artillery piece, essential for the success of any offensive, had to be brought inland from the waiting ships to support the troops engaged in the brutal and protracted battle for the peninsula.
