The Little Folk Misfitz was a popular set of character cards or parts, which were used in various nursery games during the 1910s. The boy in the photograph wears a ginger-colored ruff around his neck, a green shirt, white shorts, and black shoes and socks. His curly, unruly ginger hair adds to his mischievous and endearing appearance. The character of Little Tommy Tucker is believed to have originated from a popular nursery rhyme of the same name, which dates back to the 18th century. The rhyme tells the story of a boy who goes a-fishing and catches a herring, a salmon, and a flounder, but keeps only the roe of the herring for himself, much to the dismay of his father.
