The 5th and 8th Duke of Cornwall and Prince of Wales, Edward was a keen supporter of the Royal Navy and underwent training as a naval cadet at the age of 12, following in the footsteps of his father and his grandfather, Prince Albert Edward, who had also served in the navy.
