This striking portrait of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester and later Duke of Oatlands, was painted by the renowned Dutch artist Simon Luttichuys during the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century. Prince Henry, a younger son of King James I of England and Anne of Denmark, is depicted in a bold and confident posture, standing before a plain background, wearing a suit of Danish armor and a long, flowing mane.
