The Buccaneer Room, Carlyle Club, Piccadilly, 1915. The Carlyle Club opened at 180 Piccadilly in May, 1914. It survived World War I and was still operating in the 1920s. The club was famed for its luxurious Buccaneer smoking room (designed by Waring & Gillow) and its room dedicated to the work and associated artifacts of Thomas Carlyle (1795?1881).
