EDITORS COMMENTS
This exquisite photograph captures the radiant beauty and regal elegance of Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia on her wedding day as she steps out of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, following her marriage to Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn on March 13, 1879. Dressed in her bridal attire, the future Duchess of Connaught is seen holding a magnificent bouquet of flowers, adorned with a long, flowing veil that trails behind her. The historical image transports us back in time to an era of grandeur and opulence, as the young princess becomes the Duchess consort of the Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, a title she would hold until her death in 1912. The Duke, who was the third son of Queen Victoria, was also the Governor-General of Canada from 1911 to 1916. This photograph is a testament to the rich history of the British monarchy and the grandeur of royal weddings, providing a glimpse into the lives of the royals during the late 19th century.
