Rayne shoes advertisement

Advertisement for Rayne Shoes and the new showroom opened in Old Bond Street. The interior was designed by Oliver Messel who created, the prettiest shoe-salon in the world, a light-hearted fantasy in white, gold and iridescent silks. The beautiful shop was demolished in its entirety by developers in 1987 in one weekend before the building was due to be listed the following Monday - a heinous crime. Date: 1959
