Princess Augusta (or Augustine) Victoria of Hohenzollern (19 August 1890 29 August 1966), only daughter of Prince William of Hohenzollern, was a German princess and wife of King Manuel II of Portugal but only following his deposition. Born on 19 August 1890 in Sigmaringen, Germany, as the only daughter of Prince William of Hohenzollern, Princess Augusta was destined for a life of royalty. Her marriage to Manuel II, which took place on 4 September 1913, was a significant event in European royal history. Manuel II was the last King of the House of Braganza and the Portuguese monarchy, which was overthrown in the Republican Revolution of 1910.
