The photograph showcases two essential items of clothing that could be knitted for soldiers at the front to provide warmth and comfort during the harsh conditions of the First World War. The first item is a pair of mittens, designed to protect the hands from the cold and frostbite. The second item is a body belt, specifically designed to keep the midriff warm and insulated.
