This print takes us back to the 19th century, a time when steam locomotives revolutionized transportation and shaped the industrial landscape. The wood engravings, published in 1897, showcase an array of magnificent steam locomotives from different parts of the world. At the top, we are introduced to the impressive "Rittinger" express locomotive of the Austrian Southern Railway. Through a longitudinal section (1) and horizontal section (2), we get a glimpse into its intricate design and engineering marvels. Moving to the bottom left corner, we encounter various other remarkable locomotives. First is Lentz's locomotive from Austria (1), followed by a double-composite locomotive from the Gotthard railway (2).
