The image was captured at London Heathrow Airport around 1962. The Grumman G.159 Gulfstream I is a twin-engine, short-range business jet, which was originally designed for the United States Navy as a maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. However, its sleek design and impressive performance quickly caught the attention of the business aviation market. In this photograph, N601HK is seen taxing on the tarmac at Heathrow Airport, surrounded by other notable aircraft of the era. Some of these include N705G, operated by Aircraft Engineering Corporation; Flight 2, Inc's N601HP00; N700PR06 of Flight 07 Inc; N43AS00 of F.G.F.T. 18; ZS-OOE of South African Airways; and N159AJ00 of Aero Service Corporation. Despite the impressive company of these aircraft, the history of N601HK is not well-documented. It is known that it was withdrawn from service and ultimately scrapped.
